Our Hardwood Repair Process

Repair is the most practical, affordable, and eco-friendly way to maintain your flooring — and it lets you enjoy pristine floors for far longer by prolonging their lifespan. Professional hardwood repair can often eliminate the need for sandblasting or a full new installation, and a fresh coat of varnish will keep the surface looking bright for the next decade.

For bigger repairs that demand more labor, we begin with an in-home consultation. Your repair project manager decides how much work is needed, whether additional materials or tools are required, and how long the job will take. Once those details are settled, we get to work — completing every project swiftly and effectively, because customer satisfaction is what we strive for.

Questions

Hardwood Repair FAQs

Can individual hardwood boards be replaced?

Yes. We cut out the damaged boards, remove them without disturbing their neighbours, and weave new boards in so the joints stagger naturally rather than forming a visible patch. Weaving the repair in is what separates a professional job from an obvious rectangle in the middle of the floor.

Will the new wood match the old?

After refinishing, yes, closely. Without refinishing, expect a good match rather than a perfect one, because your existing floor has ambered with age and light. We stain samples against your actual floor before committing, and we tell you honestly which result you are getting.

Can gaps between boards be fixed?

Sometimes. Seasonal gaps that open in dry months and close again are normal and should be left alone. Permanent gaps can be filled during a refinish, or, where they are wide, closed by lifting and re-laying a section. Filling wide gaps on a floor that still moves just pushes the filler out later.

How quickly should water damage be dealt with?

Fast. The sooner a wet floor is dried, the more of it can be saved, and cupped boards will sometimes flatten out completely once the moisture level returns to normal. Leave it and the boards crown, the finish fails and the subfloor becomes the problem. Call (866) 429-4949 as soon as you find it.
